Finding someone hiding in your attic sounds like a scene straight out of a horror movie, but for one married couple, it became a disturbing reality.
Jerome first noticed something wrong when he heard noises above his bedroom. He also saw a light shining through a vent. Understandably worried for his, his wife’s, and his 10-month-old daughter’s safety, he decided to set up a hidden camera in the attic. What it recorded freaked him out.
When Jerome reviewed the footage the next day, he saw a man crawling around and carrying a power drill in the attic.
Jerome recognized him as 69-year-old Robert Havrilla, who at the time was renovating the house next door. He’d made a removable wall to get into their attic and drilled holes in a common wall. The Kennedys think he was looking into their bedroom as well.
“It shows him removing a false wall that he engineered, climbing onto my ceiling, above my baby’s crib, and he lies on some planks that he put there, in my ceiling,” Kennedy told KDKA.
Jerome called the police, who arrested Havrilla on July 17 and charged him with stalking and trespassing. Though Havrilla was taken into police custody, the whole ordeal has left the family shaken and afraid to sleep at night. Who could blame them?
“It’s very disheartening to feel violated in this way that somebody can come in and disrupt the sanctity of my home, it’s indescribable,” Kennedy said. “The only thing I can assume is he’s watching my baby, my wife, or myself.”

Recently, the teens from Kenosha, Wisconsin, traveled to St. Louis to accept the Musial Award for Sportsmanship. But this time, it wasn’t their athletic prowess that won them the award; rather, it was what they did for a fellow student that earned them the recognition they deserved.
Desiree Andrews, a teen with Down syndrome, attends Lincoln Middle School alongside Terrien, Vazquez, and Rodriguez. She loves dancing and music, and is also described as one of the happiest people in the school. It’s only fitting, then, that she’s on the cheerleading team — something she’s very proud and passionate about.
Terrien, Vazquez, and Rodriguez all consider Andrews a good friend, so when they noticed bullies giving her a hard time during one of the school’s basketball games, they knew they had to stand up for her. A group on the sidelines had been heckling the cheerleader, and when her friends saw, they couldn’t ignore it.
That’s why during a timeout, all three boys left the coach’s huddle and walked over to the other side of the gym, where they told the bullies they needed to cut it out — and it worked! Now Andrews is as fond as ever of her three wonderful friends, and their dads couldn’t be more proud of their admirable actions.
It’s really no wonder why the basketball players received the Musial Award for Sportsmanship. More on this story in the video below.
Natasha and Chris already had three children together when he was deployed with the U.S. Navy. A week after he left, Natasha found out that they were going to add another member to their family. But instead of writing Chris and letting him know about their new little bundle of joy growing inside her, she decided to wait it out for months so she could surprise him when he came back.
“I found out about a week after he left. I didn’t believe it,” Natasha told ABC News. “I took the pregnancy test again and I was like, ‘Oh no way.’ I was excited about it and I emailed him and I told him to call me as soon as he gets a chance.”
“Then I thought about it for a few minutes and I was like, ‘You know, this isn’t how I want to tell him – in an email.’ I emailed him back and said, ‘I just miss your voice.’ That’s when I decided I’m going to document it with weekly belly pictures for him so he wouldn’t miss it,” she added.
As her belly grew, she began hiding it during video calls with Chris. She said she’d even cover the evidence of her pregnancy with stickers or decorations in photos she sent of herself.
When Chris got home after serving six months overseas, he was first greeted by his happy kids. And as he started walking over to Natasha for a hug, she pulled her welcome sign away from her belly while he looked on in shock.
Watch as Chris finds out he’s going to have a fourth child. The look on his face is priceless!
“When it was real I was extremely confused so I asked, ‘Is that real?’ to be sure, then hugged her because it was the only thing I could think to do. I was extremely happy with the news because we both wanted a fourth child and since it is our last I was happy she did something memorable and fun.”
“It was everything I hoped for. His reaction was the best,” Natasha said
While Chris didn’t get to find out about the pregnancy until it was nearly to term, Natasha did wait to hear the gender. They both learned they were having a little girl at a gender reveal party, and Chris was definitely able to be there for the birth.
