A stray pit bull dog risks his life and saves a woman and her child from a knife-wielding attacker! He is a true hero!

A Florida woman named “Angela” was leaving a playground with her 2-year-old son in Port Charlotte when a man approached her in the parking lot with a knife and threatened her.

She had no way to defend herself but at that very moment, a mysterious dog suddenly appeared and started bearing his teeth, growling, and barking at the aggressor.

He did not physically hurt the man, but it was enough to scare him off. He quickly ran away.

We don’t really know what were the man’s intentions, but it is very likely that this dog saved her life!  The amazing part of the story is that this pit bull had never met or even seen the people it quickly jumped to protect.

There are many stories in which dogs defend their owners, but this dog had nothing to do with this woman or her kid before. He simply realized that they were in danger and bravely stepped in.

After the thief vanished, Angela quickly took her son Jordan in the car and tried to drive off. But before she could,  the dog quickly jumped into her backseat, waiting patiently for the police and animal control officers to arrive.

Later on, the dog was transported to a local shelter where the workers believe that he is not actually stray, but lost, considering his good health, vigorous body and mild temperament.

If his owners don’t step forward within five days, Angela and her family plan to adopt the savior she named “Angel.” Because he truly was a guardian angel!

Some critics have expressed skepticism about this amazing story, not believing that a stray pit bull dog could protect someone it didn’t know and that Angel’s docile nature offered a further indication that he would not have charged the knife attacker.

But what we really know is that this unknown hero was later transferred to Midwest Animal Rescue (MARS) in Minneapolis, to undergo a course of treatment for heart-worms and find placement in a new home.

Unfortunately, according to MARS, Angel was put down on 8 March 2009 due to complications from heart worms. RIP dear angel!
