I have THE BEST dog in the world. You might ask…why is she so different than all the rest? Because you see…Karma cares for my 5-year-old son who has AUTISM.
She has since day one when she was a tiny little 8-week old baby in my arms coming through that door. Every morning, till the very second he falls asleep she is on the clock taking close care of him. She plays with him, holds him near when he cannot control his mind and body and he spins out of control, she understands his daily needs, she gets him.
She knows when something is off and helps to correct his mood if he needs help. She’s able to get him to calm down and get him out of his meltdowns. When he needs pressure on his body; when he needs just a friend; when he needs that physical grounding…she is there.
I don’t profess my love and appreciation for her enough. I appreciate her because she works 24/7 to take care of my autistic son. She IS the epitome of a best friend and care giver, and I thank God for her every day.
She doesn’t care what type of mood he is in, what he’s going through…she always takes it and his meltdowns are very LOUD and get physical. It doesn’t matter. She always understands.
She is an amazing dog that I will always cherish. She has given my son something so special. And for that, I will forever be eternally grateful. She is our miracle in a difficult place. She is our nurse, our caregiver, our nanny for our wonderful little boy. If I could give her the world I would.
