Cop Responds To Call At Animal Shelter, And Then He Can’t Put Down Tiny Rescue Pup

Officer Montgomery was responding to a routine call at an animal shelter, but he couldn’t help but notice the cutest puppy as he was leaving. The only obstacle was convincing his girlfriend to let him bring the furbaby home.

Officer Marcus Montgomery responded to a routine call at the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society to handle a situation with an employee. As he was on his way out, Marcus couldn’t hep but notice that a shelter supervisor had a small rescue puppy in her hands.

He instantly felt a connection with the little guy and wanted to bring the puppy home.

“I immediately saw the connection, but I was at first apprehensive due to me and my girlfriend’s schedule. I figured it was going to be difficult to give him the proper care he deserves,” Marcus told Inside Edition. Marcus spoke with the staff to see what would go into caring for the dog.

“After speaking with the staff, they educated me on what he would need and that he would actually be OK by himself, as long as it wasn’t for an exorbitant amount of time. So I went home and talked with my girlfriend and she immediately fell in love with him once she held him,” he said.

The couple already had a pit bull rescue named Vader, so they named their new pup Kylo, in honor of their favorite Star Wars villains: Darth Vader and Kylo Ren. “Since I got to name Vader, I wanted my girlfriend to name the newest addition. Because we already had Vader, she decided on Kylo, or Kylo Ren due to the Star Wars connection,” he said.

Vader treats Kylo like a little brother, and Kylo follows him around mimicking his every move. “They play around but I usually stay close because Kylo is still in the teething stage and I don’t want him latching onto Vader,” he said.

Man Tries To Abduct 10-Year-Old Girl, Doesn’t Realize Her Dog Is Watching Her Back

In Woodbridge, Virginia, a ten year-old girl was walking her dog on the streets of Heather Glen Court when a large man suddenly appeared next to her.

The man then grabbed the girl’s arm with force, possibly trying to abduct her. But her loyal dog was not going to let anything happen to his owner. Her dog immediately reacted and bit the man’s arm, which scared him off. The bite caused the man to let go of the girl’s arm immediately and fled the scene on foot.

Not long after, the police were contacted and officers were dispatched to the scene quickly.

Even though the officers had help from the K-9 dogs, they were unable to locate the suspect. Currently, the investigation is still ongoing and the suspect still remains at large. The Prince William County Police Department also gave a press release on their Facebook page.

According to the press release, the attempted abduction occurred at approximately 3.50 p.m in the 1800 block of Heather Glenn Court in Woodbridge and while the girl is uninjured, the suspect could not be located.

The police department also included information of the suspect’s appearance in the press release, stating that the suspect was a Hispanic male of an unknown age, around 5’3″ in height and about 145 lbs in weight.

He also had a thin build, short brown hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a white striped shirt and light colored long pants.

Dogs are incredibly loyal and protective of their owners, no matter their age. It is no wonder that this girl’s dog reacted when he saw that his owner was in danger.

The Prince William County Police Department also praised the dog’s heroic actions, stating that the man could have successfully abducted the girl if she was alone.

Thanks to her dog, this ten year old girl was able to escape a terrible fate and go back home safely!
